Your tax-deductible financial contributions can help us bring more drumming programs to more youth in more places.

Our African drumming programs are highly professional and musically challenging, and they provide cultural and economic opportunities as well as direction and motivation for urban youth. The value is unquestioned and the results are indisputable—but arts programs like ours continue to be drastically under-funded.
Over the years, hosting organizations have paid to bring in Hooked On Drums for limited residencies or multi-week classes. Many other organizations would like to host our programs, but don't have access to the necessary finances. Perpetually cash-strapped inner city schools, park districts and after-school programs often have trouble adequately financing even their day-to-day operations.
We'd like to make Hooked On Drums “portable” by generating the resources to finance our programs independently, then offering after-school programs or in-school curriculum to hosting institutions without them having to scramble for funding.
Your contributions will enable us to bring more drumming programs to more kids in more places, and to concentrate our professional efforts on the work we were meant to do. Dr. Lillian Friedberg has a unique gift that allows her to connect with and teach urban youth, motivating them to attain their full potential for achievement—this is her passionate purpose in life. But without adequate funding for these programs, she is limited in the scope of outreach by the need to generate income through other professional activities that do not have nearly the same positive impact in our community.
Please consider making a contribution to Hooked On Drums. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, so your gifts are tax deductible. Our total operating budget for a year of programs is modest compared to other arts institutions, and the positive impact of your gifts will be exponential!
